Metallic Avocado was commissioned by Storebrand to create
a website to present what is
one of the major Norwegian corporate art collections. In Norway,
the website is an important initiative as it is the first major
collection,
public
or private, that has been made permanently and freely accessible
in its entirety to the public.
The collection's emphasis is on modern and contemporary Norwegian
and international art, featuring work by artists
such as Andres Serrano, Bernd & Hilla Becher, Thomas Struth and
Richard Serra. The works in the collection are located in Storebrand's
offices
in
Oslo and
elsewhere.
The
website provides user-friendly access to more than
500 paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, textiles
and sculptures, and includes high quality images and detailed information.

The online art collection is presented through
a simple user interface that has alternative approaches
to exploring the collection; through conventional search,
by exploring artists and media, or by a time period/year
interface.
